PESHAWAR: A suicide bomber targeted a "peace committee commander in Bazikhel village, killing three of his guards and wounding five others.
"It was a suicide attack on (anti-Taliban commander of the troops) Faheem Khan," the police official Shafiullah Khan told reporters. Two police officers, residents of Bazikhel were spot slain, while the third victim succumbed to his injuries in the Lady Reading hospital, official sources said.
Witnesses said the suicide bomber blew himself up near the vehicle of the anti-Taliban commander of the troops on Bazikhel Badhaber Chowk in Kohat Road area.
"Faheem Khan was not present in the vehicle, making the survival of the attack," said the witness. The five wounded, including 12-year-old Baz Mohammed, were rushed to Lady Reading Hospital, the oldest hospital.
Faheem Khan recently anti-Taliban power off after the government, he said, "disappointed" him by not extending support to its power. It is one of many such attacks Faheem Khan has survived.
